Re: Conlang mini-ideas
An engelang in which basic concepts have own roots, and more specific concepts are obtained by regular sound changes. For example, if amoto is "emotion", and N > D / V_V is "red-related", aboto is "anger". Verbs are created in the same way. So if "apple" is k...

as few as possible, I don't keep any archive or dictionary, except the one in my mind... to do it right, I'd have to delete each previous message before any new word, to avoid any global consistency at the detriment of the consistency of the moment... each word should be its first coinage, and its ...

Former . Language inventors who, for whatever reason, have either consciously set aside or unconsciously lost interest in the art. There was a time, from 1999 to 2002, when I wasn't doing any conlanging, nor conworlding. But I wouldn't call myself former. How about nonlanger : a non-conlanger who h...

Aside from Kankonian, I have many other Leholangs that I've been working on, often for decades: Shaleyan, Ciladi...

I think this is pretty much of a concession that lsd is just making up random strings on the spot, and the "language" is vacuous. exactly, it's about making up ever new strings on the spot, to transcend the vacuum of language... Wait, so you're making up random strings of characters and c...

I'm afraid, and this is part of the project, that it's all in my mind, to prevent its traces from becoming ruts, and its sedimentation from covering up its deductive character... I think this is pretty much of a concession that lsd is just making up random strings on the spot, and the "languag...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
Thanks for the comments, Arayaz! The romanization of /ɾ ɹ/ as <r rr> is a bit odd; I'd expect them the other way around. It was just a feeling: to me /ɾ/ is a very short sound, while /ɹ/ can be drawn out. I wanted <r rr> to symbolize the length of the sound, if that makes sense. I was going off of ...

Looks good overall. Two notes:
- The romanization of /ɾ ɹ/ as <r rr> is a bit odd; I'd expect them the other way around.
- You have /pʔ tʔ kʔ/ as permitted onsets ─ do you mean for those to be ejectives? <p’ t’ k’> are /pʼ tʼ kʼ/ in Mayan languages, as far as I know.

(Sorry if you've already answered this, but I don't think I've seen anything about it)
How do yinrih react to seeing actual dogs?
Do they recognize the similarity?
Do they point it out?
Or are the humansi the ones who tell themj theyj look like the pets theyi keep?

That's a great word. And a problem I'm often subject to. It's too bad I'm not a yinrih and can't pronounce it, heh!

Continuing the tale of "Arayaz did dumb things in the Xúuuatxia romanization," I'm reromanizing [ɲ] as <nj>. I don't particularly like the look, but I like <ñ> far less, and my ever-used <ň> doesn't match the aesthetic I'm going for.

I slip out of the fold of the multiverse and act as if I've been there all along. "Eel," I say, guessing that it was a greeting due to its position in the utterance, and perhaps due to its resemblance to a greeting in another language I knew spoken in a place oddly similar to this one. Ee...
