The consonants are fine, if a bit (a lot) Englishy.
In the vowels, it seems like the /a/ would pattern as a backer counterpart to /ɛ/, just like /i/ and /u/, and /e/ and /o/.
If not, why?

Re: Random phonology/phonemic inventory thread
If there is a labialized /nʷ/ there will be a plain /n/. What happened to the plain /n/? I don't know, I didn't think about this phonology much; as I said, I just sketched something up to revive this thread and make a contrast to European phonologies. Keep in mind that if you have interesting gaps,...

Is there a reason why you have as your only nasal consonant /m/? Usually it's /n/.

When I saw your name on the board, I went on this thread just to comment on how I knew what you were going to say. 8-)

Re: Random phonology/phonemic inventory thread
Can you explain the strange gaps?
Plus you can't have both palatalization and velarization on a consonant.

Re: Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
A clitic is sorta like an affix, but it can attach to a phrase and is often not limited to only one part of speech. It operates syntactically like a separate word, but phonologically it acts like an affix. e.g. cats and cat's are phonologically the same, but the plural morpheme -s is an affix, where...

Ah, ok. The use and meaning of the diffiditive is not solely that of an optative with negative polarity. This is especially apparent in if...then statements, where the optative conveys factual situations, where the protasis necessarily implies the apodosis: If it snows, I wake up late. If snow-OPT, ...

Most people are going to naturally view their native language as the standard upon which all other langs are judged. ..... That's the point. This shit is hard, because I have nothing to compare it to. I didn't even think of those different uses of "can" until you pointed them out--I just ...

Re: Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
And marking both negative polarity and optative wouldn't work because negative polarity isn't marked on the verb. Why does the negative polarity need to also be on the verb? I don't get the question. I just said that it doesn't mark negative polarity on the verb; the diffiditive case, while essenti...

Re: A rough, rough, look at Demonos.
See, that's my point. Having multiple particles to express one modal, is, for lack of a better term, idiotic. Laughable even, when the Germanic languages (Best Language family in my opinion) have shown that you need only one or two words for all those forms. I don't like having complicated systems ...

Re: Aspect and tense
Feayran doesn't morphologically mark tense (unless you count incorporating specific time-roots as locative arguments), but it does mark aspect . I just want to tell you how amazingly awesome that is and that I'm gonna steal it. Hope you don't mind. :-P Thanks! No problem. Do I get a footnote? I lov...
