Re: Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I can haz feedback at least on this one orthography question? Since <c> is already reserved for /t͡ʃ/, should I be using <ç> as a a base for the palatal plosives or <ċ>?

I'm inclined to agree with Thakowsaizmu, and that your last question was redundant.

Re: Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

/b t k/ isn't that weird tho I will dispute that Arabic has that since it does have more voiced stops and the question concluded with with /b/ being the only voiced stop in the set: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rebooting, again, I be looking for so...

Re: Another odd idea: a creole made up of portmaneaus?

I do know it's not by portmanteaus. The lexicon bit is where they normally just import it from one of the langs.

If you insist on portmanteaus than the word you're looking for to match langue/lingua is "tongue".

Re: Canoe

Would you say canoe's an accurate translation of that? Since it looks like there's two words there, would I actually need both and if not would qano be the noun? סירת קנו literary means "canoe boat", but I have never seen קנו used on its own, probably because it would not be comprehensibl...

Re: My private romanization of Arabic

Uh yeah it would. That's kinda what an exception is. Like I said: Sano doesn't grasp exceptions. I think you have mistaken me for the topic. I assure I haven't. I merely pointed out that Sano doesn't really have a basis for his nitpicking. "There is no water in this bucket except for these 3 g...

Actually it's totally relevant as it's the reason you're seeing the imaginary contradiction.

Re: My private romanization of Arabic

There are no acute accents in this orthography, except of <ś ź> for interdental fricatives. So, there are acute accents in this orthography, but there aren't ?? Only two of them, yet you're talking as if there were thousands. Sano has problems with the concept of exceptions. It's okay! He's got a c...

Canoe

In my search for a romanized transliteraton of סירת קנו (which is supposed to be canoe) for a video of wacky linguistic quackery, I thought maybe I'll get results here and make a translation challenge out of it. As an aside, I'm vaguely disappointed there's no flag that's corresponds to "langua...

Some generalizations: Phonology: front rounded vowels and vowel harmony Nouns: plural suffix, possessive suffixes, case suffixes. No noun classess/gender. Verbs: negation/tense/aspect/mood Particples for relative clauses Exclusively suffixing Word order: SOV, left-branching Needn't worry too much. E...

87 codified. Maybe up to 200 counting the rest floating around. Rebooting on a bimonthly basis has its drawbacks.
