Re: What did you accomplish today?

Set my Kankonian work aside for the day after kametwa, meaning kametua (a Povoian chocolate ball filled with crème and cocoa powder and covered with chocolate sprinkles). The kametua is Kankonia's answer to the brigadeiro.

Yep, the old CBB had an address at a website called Aveneca.

Re: What did you accomplish today?

When I was 1% of the way through the wordlist, I did a calculation with how many new words I had added to Kankonian and predicted I would get about 22,000 new words out of that, ending up with 109K-110K Kankonian words. Now that I'm 10% of the way through, I calculated again. Going from 87,780 to 90...

I think it's great that you're writing a story in your conlang. Its grammar and lexicon will come to be developed in that way, to the point where you can actually say stuff in the language. Then the CBBizens can hold a Hóubenk conversation.

Re: What did you accomplish today?

I have just reached word #6,089 in the alphabetical list of words from the IGCE corpus, "bombproof". That means I am now exactly one-tenth of the way through my wordlist! I have 90,686 Kankonian words now. Is it a coincidence that the number of Kankonian words is composed of the same arra...

Do these strange creatures use a dozenal numeral system, perhaps? The yinrih from my conworld also have six finges (technically four finges and two thumbs) and use a base 12 number system. Yep, we have a discussion about that here: https://cbbforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=328231&hilit=octodecimal#p...

Re: Arayaz's thread so that she doesn't flood the forum

Are you against using X or C for the alveolo-palatal sibilant? I use X in Hapoish, Quispe, Txabao, and Javartu. Oooo, <x> could look quite nice. I usually dislike it for /ʃ/, but as in this case I think it tends more towards [xʲ] it could work very well. Thank you! You're welcome! Glad to be of hel...

I'm just really curious how a topic prominent language works outside of Asia.
Here's a good post on it:

Another type that's a mix of filler and scrapper is the remapper!

Ah, if it's like the Ship of Theseus, that sounds like a perfectionist.

Re: Arayaz's thread so that she doesn't flood the forum

I'm more of a perfectionist or whatever that's called in Khemehekis's typology. I scrapped Abaniscen multiple times and remade it, and the only thing the versions have in common is a single syntactical feature. And doing that actually helped me make "better" conlangs later. So maybe it's ...

Just wow. I'm going to repeat what I, as an anthropologist of scrappers and other conlanging types, said in March: It's in the nature of the scrapper to find that one fatal flaw with each of his/her languages, be it a logistical, proof-of-concept, or strictly aesthetic flaw. Maybe Ruykkarraber can b...

Just realized that I reached word #90,210 -- as in Beverly Hills! The word was blumia , meaning "bindery, bookbindery". Blum is a verb meaning "to bind", like binding books, and -ia is a suffix for place words, including Kankonia itself (unlike the Indo-European suffix -ia, thoug...
