Re: What are you listening to/watching?

Last week, but eh: Beforeigners . Synopsis (with as little spoilage as possible): People from the neolithic, the Viking age and the 19th century start appearing in Oslo. They have to live and work together, and there's a murder case to solve… Unfortunately, I had to sit through six episodes of Germa...

Re: What are you listening to/watching?

So the German state-funded TV aired the Norwegian mini-series Fremvandrerne (Beforeigners) yesterday. I watched the first episode today (yay internet) and got hooked. Unfortunately, the dubbing isn't optional, but the Old Norse parts have been left untouched, save for subtitles. I'm going to watch t...

Re: What are you listening to/watching?

I'm listening to Gluck's "Orfeo ed Euridice". I have a digital recording but recently acquired a recording on vinyl and I prefer listening to opera on vinyl [:D] I have some more or less classical music on vinyl. And, of course, two albums by Queen. To be fair, we were really desperate. [...

This , and this , and this , and this one . And those two . I've listened to each of those at least fifty times this year already and, if I were more musically inclined, I could've written entirely new songs based off of those. For tomorrow, It'll be this one with a re-enactment of this photo .

For those wondering what I've been doing since I disappeared: In addition to learning some Norwegian (unfortunately the :dan: :nor: Bokmål variety), picking up a course-book on Swedish (with CD) and writing funny messages on the CBB Discord server, I've been writing about a dozen short stories, add...

Re: The Sixth Conversation Thread

Germany (more realistically, Cologne) celebrates the beginning of a mysterious “fifth season” (i.e. carnival season) each 11th November at 11:11 (AM). The German version of “Rememberance Day”, Volkstrauertag (which bemournes every soul lost to war, be it “veteran” or “cvilian”) is observed on the pe...

My parents are insufferable. Literal denialists in the midst of a pandemic and calling me an idiot millennial for actually listening to medical experts who know what they're talking about. Nothing but "why can't we believe what we want to believe" and "well, it's not literally killin...

Re: What are you listening to/watching?

Welp, too much Queen music.
I bought Kind of Magic (the digitally remastered version) on LP and Innuendo on CD last summer in Poland, and for Christmas I bought Made in Heaven (digitally remastered LP) and A Night at the Opera (CD, because it was cheaper).

Re: Rumhängethread [Deutsch]

So, nach knapp einem Jahr Inaktivität schmeiße ich mal was in den Rumhängethread. Was gibt's Neues? Naja, es gibt zumindest etwas Altes: Ich habe seit einiger Zeit einen etwas älteren Rechner bei mir stehen, den ich wieder zum Laufen bringen möchte. Konkret handelt es sich um einen Commodore Amiga 5...

I'm definitely subscribing. I saw an older version of this on the ZBB and directly took some inspiration from it for my own Wínlandisch [ˈwæɪ̯nˌlandɪʃ] (Gothic -> “West Saxon” -> “English”), but I'm stuck in between Old and Middle Wínlandisch and didn't pick it back up since 2015 or so… Anyways, I'd...

Re: Weird Dream Thread

I dreamt that I played a game very similar to Sim City 3000 – what differed was that I could add extras (central heating for a few Simoleons, for example) to the buildings, which would improve the quality of life for my Sims.
Should I go to EA with this dream-derived idea?
