Re: Climates of a mirrored Earth
Thank you for your comments! Comments: I doubt I could help you. Unless encouragement counts as help. 'Cause I can say "Way to go!" Of course, encouragement always motivates me and I really need motivation for this! [:P] This is a great idea! I'll try and give some more detailed comments l...

Climates of a mirrored Earth
I always said to myself that if I ever create languages and cultures for a conworld, I want the conworld to be a mirrored earth, nothing more. This saves time (for me as a perfectionist without motivation) because I would spend ages creating the continents and I only have to worry about the climate ...

Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
Was /oi̯/ a diphthong in Latin? [cross] "come from" as in "was there a consonant there in Latin"? I don't meant to sound rude, but what else did you think I could have meant? In any case, you answered the question I was asking. It was clear what you meant. The you in "Depen...

Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
Depends on how you define "come from". It wasn't there in the beginning so I guess it had to come from somwhere. However, there was no /C/ > /i̯/ so I'll say for now?

Sure, I don't have a good word in my abondoned romlang either so here's a more simple one I'd say!

Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
I'm happy to see that the other two guessing games are running again, but I'd love to see this one return as well. So if we have to only guess between these three words now (because that seems to be the problem here?), I'm just gonna guess it's necrophilia.

Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
Does anyone know of a detailed summary on Slavic syntax (preferably Serbo-Croation, Slavic, Ukrainian and Proto-Slavic/OCS, but anything will do I think)? I only found basic summaries that didn't go in further detail concerning adverbial placement, more complicated sentences etc.

Re: Lexicon milestones
On August 18, 2017, Kankonian reached 55,000 words! The only thing I can say is that I am very very impressed by this! [O.O] How do you keep your dictionary, in a spreadsheet or something like word? I managed to fill four pages of words in Cissian (or eight pages, depending on how you count). I'm q...

Excuse me if it is not detailed enough, but I am on mobile right now (and I am tired and a bit drunk as well, so I'll try my best). I once had a detailed source about this somewhere but I'm not able to find it anymore so I'll just write down what I still know: /s/: From Latin /s/ at the beginning an...

Re: Introducing Qutrussan
First things first: I really like Qutrussan. It does indeed have a very classical feel to it and I always like to see a new post on here. I'm fond of the fused nominative and accusative pronouns! Concerning the realism of the empire, I think I've read somewhere that empires tend to stretch out horiz...

I have created the following mood distinction in verbs and I am not sure how to call it: "She (definitely) does it" vs. "She probably does it" "She'll (definitely) do that/She's going to do that" vs. "She'll probably do that" "She (definitely) did that&qu...

Reply: So where is Cissia located? Here's Zakarpattia Oblast, maybe plus Romania's Maramures County? Is it possible for them to be Greek Catholic like in west Ukraine? Here is a quick map of it. Well, how come they use the Cyrillic alphabet? Located in the Carpathian Basin, they are supposed to be Roman Catholic or Calvinist. Is it spoken in Great Hungarian Plain? Edit: it is also possible to be located in Carpathian Ruthenia. I wrote a bit about it in the upcoming post on why they chose t...
