Re: Yay or Nay?
Word-initial clusters are quite rare in Qutrussan, but so are vowel-initial words. In fact, no roots are vowel initial and this only occurs due to certain inflections. However, if a word ends in a consonant and the next word begins with a cluster, there is an epenthetic vowel. I'm thinking of makin...

I've long been fascinated with PIE and the more conservative IE languages, which have influenced my own conlang, Shonkasika. All of this is to say, I love what I'm seeing so far! I look forward to seeing more!

Re: What did you accomplish today?
I came up with a solution for representing hiatuses in Shonkasika that I'm satisfied with. The sequence, <hh>, which otherwise does not occur, will now be placed between two vowels that would otherwise form a diphthong. I didn't want to use diacritics since those are used to mark vowel quality or st...

Re: What did you accomplish today?
I did some reorganization of Shonkasika's lexicon (I use SIL FieldWorks Language Explorer to manage it). I basically decided to treat middle, passive, and causative senses of a verb with notes about which voice to use rather than separate head entries. Here is an example: https://i.imgur.com/i2afnZV...

Re: What did you accomplish today?
I decided to loosen up the stress rules for Shonkasika. While most words of all classes are stressed on the penultimate syllable, I'm allowing for nouns and adjectives to be stressed on the ultima and the penultimate syllable. I decided to modify my orthography and declension rules to account for th...

Re: What did you accomplish today?
After a significant period with out much work on Shonkasika (too much going with my job and other life), I have added an additional adjective class to the language. It is a basically a catch-all for adjectives that don't inflect for all six genders present in the conlang: https://i.imgur.com/Cl1Qh3n...

Re: What did you accomplish today?
So Windows 10 Creator's update caused some issues with SIL FieldWorks, which is my main way of managing my lexicon. Basically, it crashed for me when I wanted to add multiple senses to an entry. While a fix is in the pipeline from Microsoft, I've found a workaround for the meantime: Run FieldWorks u...

The pos...
