Re: Deictic particles in Mayan
Split demonstrative phrases are the norm in Celtic languages as well, although there are distinct demonstrative pronouns for 'this' and 'that'. However the colloquial Welsh has become similar to the German in that the distinct demonstrative pronouns (hwn/hon/hwnnw/honno/hyn/hynnny) are more often re...

Re: Are you happy to see me?
This sentence makes remarkably little sense in Rireinu culture since all Rireinukave are anatomically female (the males of the species are non-sapient so are tacitly ignored) so the subtext is completely lost. Maybe a more gender-neutral one would be something like "do you have a fever", ...

Is Dene-Yeniseian no longer accepted? Did something happen? I don't know the general opinion, but I haven't found much written on the topic apart from Vajda's tbh. I imagine you'll want to take inspiration from Scottish Gaelic and Manx since they both developed in areas of Norse influence ( the Hebrides and the Isle of Man were both under Norse control for some time ), but that influence is still somewhat limited by time. Also I always saw Icelandic and Faroes...

as does Cornish (I think Breton too maybe?), and Scottish Gaelic.
