Re: Using Inspiration Pad Pro as a word generator

Time to work on the rest of the onset choices. Added an Onset and Sh+Consonant+Liquid table, and altered the word table. Table: Maanxmust 3:[@Onset][@StressVowels] 2:[@Onset][@StressVowels][@Onset][@UnStressVowels] [@Onset][@StressVowels][@Onset][@UnStressVowels][@Onset][@UnStressVowels] Table: Onse...

Easy way to draw conscripts in Illustrator

This is written for someone with a basic knowledge of Illustrator. You should also be able to adapt it for other software. This post won’t tell you how to design a script. It won't make a font that you can type with your keyboard (although you could then take them and but them into a font creator), ...

I think you're our first transmasculine androgyne ever! Congratulations! 13 atheist, raised Presbytarian You misspelled your childhood religion! It's pretty evident, judging thereby, that you have abandoned Presbyterianism. I mean, androgyne is just a specific non-binary gender. I'm a good speller,...

Have you seen this survey? I've had a lot of non-binary people answering it lately.
I missed that one! I don't really go into Everything Else.

Re: What did you accomplish today?

I say YES! Many people have requested advice on how to make fonts. Clawgrip once stated that his acumen with computer font-making was what allowed him to keep and organize such an elaborate logographic system for his Himmaswa (my favorite con-script of all time!) "Could be worse – you could be...

Re: What did you accomplish today?

Very Cyrillic-looking! And a bit Seussian/Zebra-esque. Thanks! I wanted something vaguely Latin looking, but a bit fancier, which I'm pretty sure equals Cyrillic. One of the languages its used for is the English equivalent: lingua franca, complex phonotactics, less synthetic but still with some fun...

In honor of decorating for Christmas today, here's a Maanxmusht two-for-one

ʀiuʃiolʃdi /ʀiu.ʃi.olʃ.di/ festival, celebration, holiday. Literally 'song day'. Animate strong noun.

Re: Figuring out word stress & intonation

Strangely enough, online resources on intonation are sometimes pretty good. If you try to find resources on the ToBI notation system (or its variant for your native language), you will probably encounter some helpful material. Sometimes looking at our native language already gives interesting ideas...

Got nine of the 21 Maanxmusht letters redone into a nice serif style. The alphabet is also used for some other languages on Thundera. Maanxmusht only uses upper case, but the others have a lower case as well. It's designed but not in the computer yet. Here's D P M U O N I E and J https://pbs.twimg.c...

Re: Figuring out word stress & intonation

The Conlangery podcast has a helpful episode on stress systems ( link ). Listened to it a few days ago myself. They also include quite a few resources in the show notes that may be of interest. Of course they do - I should've checked there. I wish they had transcripts for more of their episodes sin...

Figuring out word stress & intonation

Anybody have any resources or advice on figuring out interesting word stress patterns and sentence intonation? Or some nice examples in natlangs or conlangs? I have a language I'm trying to flesh out and I'd like to do something more interesting than 'stress is on the penultimate' syllable or whatev...

I made the 'font' just really quickly in Illustrator. It needs to be cleaned up so the end angles are better, but whatever. I'd also like to make a serif version, but I don't know that I'll ever get to it. I designed it thinking about it being easy to engrave in stone. I should make a lower-case ver...

I've created an alphabet for Maanxmusht, which is also used for Ylialis and Ravar. It's written right to left. Long vowels are underlined. pivra (wrist) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EoNnG02VEAIlL6d?format=png&name=360x360 dumt (finger) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EoNnbYKVEAIs2eZ?format=png&na...
