Rate my geography too : D

Post by Birdjimmy »

OK, so I noticed that most threads in this section are about "hey whaddaya think bout my geography?" and I thought I should post mine too. I worked in FT3, but I started from completely flat world and sculpted everything from zero, using my former sketches. Then I used GIMP to add some climate.

Really pretty! I know that's not much of a criticism.

Ahh, something screwed in the DB. This link should work: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3irme3ke26l3m ... .html?dl=0 but still it needs to be downloaded (to temp is ok) and opened, because of construction of the hosting site.

I had a thought about this. Shouldn't there be more Javan or Sumatran islands.
Spoiler:
My minicity is [http://zyphrazia.myminicity.com/xml]Zyphrazia and [http://novland.myminicity.com/xml]Novland.

Minicity has fallen :(

I don't actually know what are you talking about :f Is it about islands around these latitude and climate or of similar shape or what? Sorry for my ignorance, I'm only an amateur and I haven't had much contact with communities like this forum.

It's okay, I'm new too.

A Javan or Sumatran island is a long thin island that forms at the boundary of a quickly moving tectonic plate, much like modern day Java or Sumatra

The map looks a tiny bit odd, with only small lakes, you may want to add a "Caspian" or Great Lake(N.Amer) or a Rift Valley Lake (Afr)

I've viewed it, it looks good although it only has three tectonic plates.
Best regards.

Looks pretty.

You definitely should. There are no coastal mountains on your map which is a pretty standard development so it looks a little unnatural.

I see it now. Nice!
Is the light-brown stuff desert?
Why is there so much of it?
Why is it where it is? Mountain-chains blocking the prevailing winds from the sea, or something?
What's the difference between the darker green and the lighter green? Forest vs grassland, maybe? Rainforest (temperate and tropical) vs prairie/steppe/veldt/whathaveyou?
