Don't I know it!
However, my wife-to-be might bribe my hypothetical progeny with "If you learn this language, you can talk to mummy without daddy understanding you..."
This, obviously, is her attempt to motivate my acquisition of her other tongues. She's a determined sort. :P

I'm a little surprised nobody's made a joke yet about how no conlanger has ever had the opportunity to transmit it...

I think it spreads over the internet, sorta like neckbeards, obesity, and computer viruses.

Edit: can we move this to the Everything Else Forum? This had literally nothing to do with conworlding.

Not really, actually, not at all. Transmission of conlanguages is almost entirely emergent culture, note the lack of a "con". It's not constructed in any manner.

Conculture, to my understanding is more of the "here's an ethnicity that I made up". Conlanging culture is more of an emergent property amount large groups of similarly identifying people. Conlanging culture is learning Esperanto and Klingon. Conculture is "Akurigans are strongly shamanistic"

In reality the better place will be "Anthropology, Culture & History"
Conlang transmission in real life is culture, in history, that make anthropology...
(Even if the transmission is so putative... and for many conlangs sort of conworld where that conlang is imagined to be real language... that why I posted in conculture...)
