I have also recently bought "Learn to Write Chinese Characters" by Johan Björkstén. It's really good and I recommend it to all of you.
It's helped me learn how to write and also drill some of the characters into my brain...it's all still really hard though.

I guess I'm learning the Standard Chinese dialect. Uz-translations.net is a great website for any language resources, but as you said - they are pirated :-D

"anyways" as a conversational conjunctive could be 反正.

那家百貨公司的價錢太貴了。反正以後也不准備回到哪裏。

"The prices at that department store are too high. Anyways, I will never return there again."

"anyway" in the sense "whatever method" is 任何方法, though I guess that would be "any way" in English.

在 is usually added to indicate a progressive action.
