Attempt at International SCA2 Standard

Post by Creyeditor »

So, I enjoy looking at grand masterplans, but with the online applications that we have so far, people have to used arbitrary symbols for their natural classes. Since the GeSCAlter is not yet finnished, I had an idea. What I did is basically take the existing categories provided in the Index Diachronica and fill them with IPA symbols (plus some additional characters that I usually use for complex segments). So here is the:

ISCA2S
International SCA2 Standard v 0.1

You might have noticed that some sylmbol occur multiple times in the same category. This is to ensure compability between categories, if you want to change all sounds of one category to another without changing the place opf articulation. The empty set means that there are no correspondents in the other category. The general organization is based on the IPA chart.

Here are some generic sound changes in the SCA2 format with the ISCA2S 0.1 standard
Spoiler:
-Nasal Assimilation
N/m/_B
N/ŋ/_K
N/n/_C

-Lenition
--Sonorization
F/J/V_V
--Debuccalization
F/h/V_V
--spirantization
S/F/V_V
--Voicing
T/D/V_V
-Prothesis

My idea was that we develop the standard together until its workable, so corrections, comments, questions and additions are always welcome.
