Re: Language practice thread
「ご苦労様です」は目上の人が目下の人に対して使うフレーズだからこの場合は適切ではない。同じ意味で誰に対しても言えるフレーズは「お疲れ様です」。但し、これは普段、仕事など、何かが終わったときに言うフレーズだから、この場合は少し不自然だ。
"Gokurosama desu" is a phrase used by superiors toward subordinates, so it's not suitable in this case. The one you can say to anyone is "otsukaresama desu." However, that phrase is generally used when someone finishes some kind of work or what have you, so it is kind of unnatural in this situation.

また日本語でビデオゲームをプレイしている。相変わらず難しいが、勉強するために本当に助かる。新しい言葉を多く学んでいる。(学ぶとは、こんなに使っていいの?他の言葉を使わないといけないの?)
I'm playing a video game in Japanese again. As always it's difficult, but it's really helpful for studying. I'm learning a lot of new words.
(Can I use 学ぶ like that? Do I need to use a different word?)

Re: Language practice thread
間違っていないよ!でも「こんなに」は「this much」という意味で「こんなに使っていいの?」は"Is it OK for me to use it this much?"という意味です。「in this way」と言いたいときは「こういうふうに」と言えばばっちり。Ebon wrote:また日本語でビデオゲームをプレイしている。相変わらず難しいが、勉強するために本当に助かる。新しい言葉を多く学んでいる。(学ぶとは、こんなに使っていいの?他の言葉を使わないといけないの?)

It's no problem! But "konna ni" means "this much", so "konna ni tsukatte ii no?" means "Is it OK for me to use it this much?" If you want to say "in this way", you can use "kō iu fū ni."
