L'europanto is basado sur la recognition y la possibilité of interunderstanding sin idioma fixée !
A little bit como celle qui se use naturalmente en los "lugares de rencontre" where one trade un peu de su lexique para échanger des marchandises [:x]
for frenchmen se puede ver it works, les textes produtos not so basics sont très bien understandable, y se parece que it's the same pour les anglophones or los hispanophones,... [:D]
born of una broma dans les milieu European community translators fue reported par les journalistes de toda la community, [:D]
à leer on http://www.europanto.be
et à trying si le quiere....

This is hilarious. I can indeed understand most of it with no previous knowledge, but then I am also the kind of person who has looked into all of these languages, which I would not expect that many to have in general. Anyway, I really can't take this seriously. There are better and more elegant ways to make auxlangs.

How is this supposed to be pronounced, anyway? I'm at least supposing and deeply hoping that one does not have to use the native pronunciation of the source language of each word as one reads along. That would make this language a pain to speak fluidly.

You're not supposed to take it seriously, Skógvur. As the original text says, it is "una broma". As the inventor says, "it is a joke; it is a provocation."

The inventor himself tends to pronounce the words with their original pronunciation (or, more truthfully, with a close approximation of their original pronunciation coloured by his own native language). You can watch an interview partially in Europanto here (in Europanto from 1:50 onwards)

It's funny!

I recommend moving this thread to "Everything Else"; or at least to "Conlangs".
