Zut alors! Je pensais que je savais tous les verbes irréguliers en français mais je viens de découvrir que le verbe «requérir» a une conjugaison très étrange [:'(]. C'est comme il est arrivé à l'improviste!
Gosh darn it! I thought I knew every irregular verb in French but I just discovered that the verb "requérir" has a really weird conjugation. It's like it came out of the blue

Ouais, ça m'arrive bien trop souvent ! [}:(] Ce mot se conjugue comme « acquérir » ou « conquérir », n'est-ce pas ? Pour moi le pire était quand j'ai découvert les verbes auxquelles il manques des conjugaisons entières comme « clore » !

Yeah, that happens to me far too often! [}:(] That word is conjugated like "acquérir" or "conquérir", isn't it? Fit me the wrist was when I found out about those verbs which don't have entire sections of their conjugations like "clore"!

Décidément ! Il se peut que « gésir » soit le comble du ridicule pour les verbes irréguliers.
Definitely! "Gésir" might take the cake for the weird irregular verbs.

É, eu não diria que é completamente normal. É ainda assim irregular.
Eh, I wouldn't say it's completely normal. It's still irregular.

Indeed. I hadn't seen it. But is still much more normal than the French word.

El cognado español (yacer) es irregular también, pero sus irregularidades son diferentes del cognado portugués (el presente indicativo para 1s, todas las formas del presente subjuntivo y el imperativo para 2s son irregulares, pero el presente indicativo para 3s es regular).
The Spanish cognate (yacer) is also irregular, but its irregularities are different from the Portuguese cognate (the present indicative for 1s, all of the present subjunctive forms, and the imperative for 2s are irregular, but the present indicative for 3s is regular).
