The same as fusional and agglutinative natlangs work.

In a fusional language, various grammatical categories are expressed by one single affix, furthermore a word undergoes various changes when flected (ablaut, gradient consonant mutation, assimilation etc.)
In an agglutinative language, grammatical categories are put to the stem, one after another. One grammatical category is expressed by one affix, and one affix expresses one grammatical category. That's about all.

Keep in mind that no language is clearly the one or the other; every agglutinative language is mildly flecting and every fusional language has some agglutinative prefixes or suffixes.

...yep that's all about it, I guess.
Wipe the glass. This is the usual way to start, even in the days, day and night, only a happy one.
