Proto-root **k·nr-; flow yields a basic form as well as a causative form, both inherited into the daughter language.

Basic ACTIVE form **k<ə>nr- ⇒ *kəmr- flow yields modern underlying root k·l-, the neutral stem of which is qal- flow; run; sweet water.

Basic CAUSATIVE form **k<ə>nr-əj- ⇒ *kəmrəj- make flow yields modern underlying stem k·l-j-, the neutral stem of which is qaly- pour.

qalah; it is [sweet ]water; it flows
qalyah; s/he pours[ water (unless something else is specified or understood from context)]

Proto-noun *həxə becomes modern au; sea; ocean; salt water. It also becomes a personal name.

au; it is [the ]ocean
avanī; Au! (familiar vocative)
aunalah; [is a ]sailor

Proto-root **n·wn- pile is inherited by two daughters by one nominal derivation each; Modern Maran ends up with proto *mun-tə́ → mond- cloud, while Ancient Vanga takes with it proto *mun-ə́ → mūna, not yet altered in meaning.

In Ancient Vanga, the root *n·t- hit had begun to take on a secondary figurative meaning of express one's opinion; discuss. Its causative *n·t-aj- thus came to extend its semantics towards take to council. Eventually it became a more generic word for gather, usually of numerous people.

In Old Vanga, *mūna → *mūnə meant gathering; group; bunch rather than pile. It was incorporated into the aforementioned verb and its neutral stem *mūnənadəj- meant consult; gather.

Two historical periods of the language later, the modern neutral stem munnazy- has taken on a more specific meaning in most cases: hold a market[; consult; gather].

amunnizyuoh; there is a market; they are holding a market
amunnizyū nalivova; s/he was just at the local market (= where they are holding a market here/now)

Proto-root *r- foot; leg; stand takes on a more general meaning of be in the daughter language, where the reflex is underlyingly l-.

Its modern causative, underlyingly l-j-, means put; set; lay. By extension, it also means give; give birth. The latter meaning does not refer directly to the mother's effort, but simply means to put[ into the world] and may be used in reference to either parent.
