is there a version of the Sound Change Applier that supports stress sensitive rules? I'm finding I can't figure out how to write some of my rules in a way that the system can understand, partly because I have stress-dependant rules and partly because I am converting an aspiration distinction to a voicing distinction in a particular way.

I'm not sure, but I think IPA Zounds supports rules like i → ə / [-stress] and stuff like that. However, despite its name the SCA doesn't recognize certain characters, if I can remember correctly .

How do you actually edit the files for IPA Zounds? Do I have to write them seperately in Notepad?

Yeah, something like that. I haven't used the program in a while. I usually do everything by hand nowadays. This leads to mistakes happening from time to time, but that gives everything a certain sense of realism I guess.

Yes, but you have to save lexicon files as .lex and diachronic rules as .sc, which you can then simply import into the program when you run it.
