What will happen with clusters like 'rpj'? Is there a system for linking letters that would otherwise overlap? Or will the language not permit such clusters?

So the size of a given glyph is somewhat arbitrary?

To an extent yes. The tails can be moved around a good amount.

That's too bad. I think it'd look much neater if there were in place some form of ligatureage going on. Make it maybe flow a bit better. Then again, that is kind of my own æsthetic talking.

I'm happy with both. I actually played around with some connected characters, but I felt it was impractical. So if you are doing calligraphy, yes by all means connect them. If you are scrambling to write your homework, don't bother. Plus, my last script was a connected script so I wanted to move away from that.

Heh, when scrambling to write notes, I tend to make use of many ligatures (that don't really exist outside my written English), but I understand the design method, if you are working on having a non-connected script. It just looks, to me at least, like this script would lend itself well to being connected.

I could see these being pretty easy with practice. I'll have to think about it. :/

I like the look of those. Particularly 'erpja'. Does it have a meaning, or were you just using it to test the connectivity of the script?

Also, I can feel the distress. It looks like maybe your script has different ideas as to how it wants to be written than you have. It happens to me all the time.

It's basically just a phonology right now, but I needed a break from Inyauk. 'erpja' means nothing, except there is no word initial r. So 'rapj' should be 'erapj.'

I'll probably end up doing some ligatures, it's just more work for me.

Maybe work out the words, let the ligatures come naturally? Also, 'erpja' should mean something cool, because it looks neat when all connected. My opinion, granted, but still. However, given the small sampling so far, I do think it looks pretty good overall.

In what way? Are the characters to dispirit? Do you prefer connected scripts?

I actually like that a lot... That would look great as a computer font...

Work on the different ways of writing ligatures, and pick the best looking ligatures, then create rules about which consonants or vowels make a ligature.

I think vowels should be floating and unconnected.

I'll take that as a vote for style unity and against my spelling.

I like it (i.e. the script). The common /j/ marker is nice an simple.

I myself am not such a ligaturist as far as conscripts go, but at any rate, I agree with Bristel that the vowels should remain unconnected.
