Stoplang:
Some of Stoplang's letters are small and raised - these are the parts of the syllabary spelling that have eroded out of pronounciation.

Day Two:

I wiggled my fingers.

A noonganya nyaabaa 'akanaka pas_tho gaan.
[a no:ŋ.a.ɲa ɲa:b ʔa.ka.na.ka pas To ga:n]
I wiggled a finger. (pas_tho means one and alone, but 'akanaka can't be dropped)

Day Three:
Daasaate
= by, with, owing to, subordinating, thanks to, and also :
[da:.sa:t]
e.g., A thaba seedere daasaate basbasaagare bas 'akanaka!
[a Ta.ba se:d.re da:.sa:t bas.bas.a:g.re bas ʔa.ka.na.ka]
My happiness: puppies!

I was just about to ask this in another thread you posted in because I was wondering what the raised letters were supposed to represent. [:D]

Lexember 3rd - Nakarian

I decided to play with some of the words coming from the stem so (fire) from yesterday. As with most monosyllabic words, sound change occasionally wreaks havoc on the stem when you add the class prefixes.

Class 0 - so called due to preserving the closest meaning to that of the pure stem, and also being the "default" class - e.g. for borrowings.
t͜so - fire

Class 1 - used for men and occupations
pəh - guardian, watcher (from "man of the fire" - then associated with guardsmen and soldiers, and finally acquiring the meaning of "guardian". As you can see, the stem has all but disappeared - this is what has happened to *pa-ʂau̯r over a couple thousand years.)

Class 3 - used for honorifics
nə˦so - Priest (comes from the priests' role in performing burnt sacrifices)

Class 4 - human collective
mɤnso - (own) tribe, (own) people (coming from the historical meaning of women tending fires)

:con: Pabappa:
puppip "yolk", from Bābākiam buta kius "hiding in the egg" (related languages have an atomic root for yolk, which disappeared in Pabappa due to sound changes)
winsi "umbilical cord", from Bābākiam kivip ma ši "birth rope".

:con: Poswa:

babup "umbilical cord", from Bābākiam baaep, "how the baby frees itself". Used metaphorically for power cords.(I know this is medically incorrect.... I suspect the word for "rope" in general would have a similar etymology, though, so this etymology is basically in the same vein (loool) as the Pabappa word)
bafiababiu "diphenhydramine", from Bābākiam bepa nuibam žabu baviba ŋū, "drug of a substance that comforts (people) after an insect bite wound"
Kavunupupis, šiŋuputata.
When I see you pointing at me, I know I'm in trouble. (Play)

December 4th: Stoplang:

*petata [pe.ta.ta] = Are not.
But this word from the time of the Syllabary's creation did not last to the present day. Instead, it eroded to petata, and this would not have been a problem if the only other petat- words had been the ones with such meanings as shall not, have not ever done, and capitulate. But there were other words with far different meanings, which also were petat- words...so, the solution at least among the majority of Stoplang-users, was to tack on other words, some of which, in time, themselves lost their final vowels. {for better or worse, this is not the only Syllabary-era word which has resorted to such things}

...which produces words such as...
petatanase = are not, will not, shall not (-nase being a 2nd person past pronoun not in use nowadays)
faad petatabaga = to give correction (-baga being a type of sap)
petatanasenge = to raze a building or tree (-nasenge being a nap, which requires somewhere to lay down)
