Day 6:

:con: Urkhan
Šax, n. an.
/ʃax/
Member of a tribe; citizen; person with rights

From Proto-Urkha-Aangiian *saku, tribesman/woman.

This root was derived to form new words, now usually treated like roots:
  • Šaxra, /ʃax.ra/, from šax + collective suffix ra: a tribe
  • Šamun, /ʃa.mun/, a city, village or settlement inhabited by one or more tribes. Compound of šax and the adjective muna, round, big.
  • Šamunšo, /ʃa.mun.ʃɔ/, a province. Compound of šamun and šo, from šol, large, wide, expansive.

Thanks for today's inspiration! [:D]

I hope creating names is also counting as creating new vocabulary, because I wanted to post something fitting for today [:P]

Lexember 6th:

:con: Cissian

лаванда f/inan - lavender
  • lavánda /laˈʋan.da/; gen. singular: лавандэ lavánde /laˈʋan.de/; nom. plural: лаванди lavándi /laˈʋan.di/
  • From Italian lavanda "lavender", from the feminine future passive participle of Latin lavāre "to wash".
Мiколай m/anim - given name, (Saint) Nicholas
  • Mjikoláj /mʲi.koˈlai̯/; gen. singular: Мiколая Mjikolája /mʲi.koˈla.ja/; nom. plural: Мiколаi Mjikoláji /mʲi.koˈla.ji/
  • From Ancient Greek Νικολαος (Nikólaos) "Nicholas".

I hope I can still join because my new-ish conlang needs this very much! I'll make six words to catch up and go on normally.
The orthography might change a lot later on.

:con: Zhilaa Runju

1. taiha /ˈta͡iha/ (n. - inan.) - periphery, region far away from any big cities (but that still has some people and agriculture).

2. dvenish /dβeˈniʃ/ (n. - inan.) - fishing net.
--> idvenish /idβeˈniʃ/- (n. - anim.) fisherman/woman

3. ngaat /ᵑga:t/ - (adj.) hard, solid

4. ljuucri /ˈʎu:cri/ - (adj.) clear, transparent

5. bieku /ˈbi͡eku/ - (v.) to fight, to be in a conflict

6. ikhiizh /iˈxi:ʒ/ - (n. anim.) friend, companion

Finally catching up on Lexember - I fiddled with the diachronics for U:ku:jéθétá: and Dékrena so now they're closer related - I'll go back and edit the last posts to show this...eventually.

Lexember 3:
Proto-Takur *qóthoéq, bird
→ Tōkretū /qo˥tʉ˩˥/
→ U:ku:jéθétá: /xwétʼʷáː/
→ Dékrena /hétʰea/

Lexember 4:
Proto-Takur *enéñ, to sing
→ Tōkretū /e˩ne˥ɲ/
→ U:ku:jéθétá: /henéŋ/
→ Dékrena /séɲ/ (This is a constructed language. Any resemblance to natural languages, living or extinct, is purely coincidental)
*ó(é)-enéñ, 'it sings'
→ U:ku:jéθétá: /weːnéŋá/ 'songbird'
→ Dékrena /héneɲa/ 'songbird'

Lexember 5:
Proto-Takur *bónepé'o, moon
→ Tōkretū /pa˥ne˩pɒ˥˩/
→ U:ku:jéθétá: /pʷénefétʷe/
→ Dékrena /pénfeʔo/

Lexember 6: *noebegé'o, lichen
→ Tōkretū /nʉ˩me˩kɒ˥˩/ 'twine'
→ U:ku:jéθétá: /meːpekʼétʷe/
→ U:ku:jéθétá: /meːpekʼé-/ 'tangled or tied up, messy'
→ Dékrena /mepkʰéʔo/

Lexember 7th in :con: Yélian

Holy f**k, I just found an ultimate hole in Yélian's vocabulary:

kustilvat [kʉsˈtilvɐt] - wedding day

Derived from kust - marriage + ilvat - day
Wipe the glass. This is the usual way to start, even in the days, day and night, only a happy one.

Lexember 7th - Nakarian
Today, I have finished fleshing out the 14 noun classes of Nakarian. A few more words based on the root for "fire".

ɤt͜so - torch (Class 10)
nənso - passion, desire (Class 12)
qaso/qəso - (Class 14) hellfire, the Flaming Place (a specific geographic place with extremely high seismic activity and constant lava flows, etc.)

kɤh - spark, firefly, glow (Class 11 of “so” generally dealing with uncountable nouns like "grain" or "dust". kɤh originally meant multiple flames, then shifted to mean a cloud of sparks, and finally came to mean a single spark or firefly, but also “glow”)
d͜zuh - spark, glint, flicker (Class 13 - diminutive)

The last pair is an example of how semantic drift creates synonyms from differing original meanings. However, the synonymy is not complete, as kɤh is still more likely to be used to refer to several sparks or fireflies, whereas d͜zuh has a strong connotation of a single, small source of light.

I've been sick for a few days, so I'm gonna post four. Also, I feel kinda like I'm cheeting because they're all borrowings and all the same root:

сѫѕи /sõd͡zi/ "judge" Neut. 2 from OCS сѫдьи "judge"

сѫѕиан /sõd͡zian/ "to judge" Weak; Impf. from OCS сѫдити "to judge"
