Re: New Weekly Indo European Collablang
I'm alive. It's just that I have a lot of exams at the moment so I can't really do much now. It would be great if any of you could maintain the thread with new questions for a while. I will definitely be back to continue the thread.
Re: New Weekly Indo European Collablang
I will proclaim myself the one who asks the question for this round. May they be relevant. Hopefully, I haven't forgotten something and retcon stuff to your disdain.
Something which I believe has been forgotten though is tx > tʰ, since I cannot find it in the document.
66. In PIE, some stems ended in -r in the nominative/accusative, a heteroclitic which was replaced by -n in all other cases.
a. Keep this. (Cases derived from the accusative retain the r-stem.)
b. Retain, but cases derived from the accusative are leveled to the n-stem.
c. Level them all to the r-stem.
d. Level them all to the n-stem.
e. Something else
67. Number of speakers
X. Roughly how many?
68. Consider null copula in some tense?
a. Yes
b. No
c. Something else
69. "Default" grammatical gender for things that are not clear cut
a. Neuter (Like the North Germanic languages)
b. Masculine (I think the Balto-Slavic Languages are the best examples)
c. Something else
70. Satellite framed or Verb framed
a. Satellite framed
b. Verb framed
c. Not clear cut
That's what I could come up with that's neither sound changes nor too fundamental. I really think we should come to an agreement on how the comitative works. The (preferred) order of adjective, noun, number and demonstrative and how many times it attaches to the same NP will impact greatly whether it can be called a genuine case. It also raises the question of how we express "and" now that the clitic -kʷe is presumably not doing double-duty. If any question is inappropriate at this time, don't answer it.

Re: New Weekly Indo European Collablang
All right, noone's said anything in two months and a half so I guess this could do with a bump.
As of now, it looks like all the heteroclitics will become *n and its reflexes.
It also looks like the lang will be null-copula, use the neuter gender a lot and be satellite-framed, so if anyone objects to that, now's the time to let it be known.
I intend to tally the votes and give a new set of five questions within three days unless someone else takes it upon them.

Probably depends how new they are.
<6 y/o probably are insufficiently literate.
<2 y/o probably aren’t yet fluent in their L1.
But everyone’s welcome, as I understand it, to contribute what they are able to!
