What did you accomplish today? [2011–2019]
Re: What did you accomplish today?
I have added about 70 words to my germanic conlangs lexicon.
It now has a total of 260 words, a rather small number still.

I'm kinda stuck on how to go on from now. PIE downlink is fully in and produced meaningful Proto-Hellenic words in a Arcado-Cypriot dialect. I need diachronic changes, and I can't think of any.qwed117 wrote:Began a Greeklang/Graecolang. Diversed how "until" is translated into Yélian. There are no words in Yélian that are both prepositions and conjunctions. na is the preposition, and nabetál (coined with betál, "then") is the conjunction.
Wipe the glass. This is the usual way to start, even in the days, day and night, only a happy one.

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Well, I finally got around to creating a tense and aspect system for Xosyo, as well as some notes for possible sound changes for if I decide to go towards a fusional morphology.
One example is the infix -na- for the progressive aspect merging with -ke, the negative suffix into -nge- which combines the progressive aspect with the negative.
poyek means "to eat", so pongeyek means "am/is not eating."

Re: What did you accomplish today?
I did manage to separate the noun system of my conlang into five fairly-neat classes (or "declensions" if you must). Unfortunately there's the precarious situation of the devi-type long-i-stem nouns and whether or not they are reconstructable to PIE (and not an Indo-Iranian innovation) and whether or not I should include. So far I have created no nouns of this type.
Re: What did you accomplish today?
I have added 30 word's to my unnamed germanic conlang
Also, i have been working on consonant mutations and cases in my celtic conlang.
Added 8 words to my finnic conlang.

Not bad, although that sounds like a big engineering...Ahzoh wrote:I have 14 glyphs so far in my Onschen syllabary. Still going to need 326 more.
Maybe you can consider to make something similar to the dakuten of Japanese kanas to reduce the amount of glyphs that need to be made?
I prefer to not be referred to with masculine pronouns and nouns such as “he/him/his”.

Re: What did you accomplish today?
I realized that, despite it being a language with phonemic tone, I hadn't given Project Jade any minimal pairs differentiated by just tone, so I decided to change that.
pçeıv /pʕ̞ʷeβ˥/ (n.) goat, sheep, caprid
pçev /pʕ̞ʷeβ˧/ (n.) center, middle, core
Which gives us:
ľâ (daı) pçeıv
/ʟ̝a̰˧ da˥ pʕ̞ʷeβ˥/
leg of caprid
mutton/lamb shank (Lit. "caprid's leg")
ľâ (daı) pçev
/ʟ̝a̰˧ da˥ pʕ̞ʷeβ˧/
leg of center
center leg (Colloq. "penis")
Because why not?
Also, I'd forgotten how absolutely hideous Project Jade's orthography is, but to some degree it can't be helped, and I personally feel it was worse in the past. Behold, my ugly child.

Yes. This is in the accomplishment thread because yes.DesEsseintes wrote:There's nothing more dangerous than melted cheese, which is one reason I tend to stay away from pizza.Keenir wrote:sometimes, no matter how careful we are, lactose (in/semi)tolerance can punch us in the guts.qwed117 wrote:I feel extremely sick after eating something like 6 slices of pizza.

I would have no means of justifying them. Because the possible syllables would exist before the development of the syllabary.k1234567890y wrote:Maybe you can consider to make something similar to the dakuten of Japanese kanas to reduce the amount of glyphs that need to be made?

Am working on a myth of the origin of the Sixteen Winds. And also, coincidentally, the origin of the two basic kinds of besoms.

Re: What did you accomplish today?
I had an 11-hour delay on my flight from Hong Kong to Shanghai last night/this morning, so I made lists of all the possible rhymes* (nucleus+coda) that start in ı ıı o oo in Híí.
I refuse to use the spelling rime.
This led to several discoveries:
- Glottal stop + resonant clusters such as ’n ’w ’ł are permitted, but I have no idea still whether resonant + glottal stop clusters such as n’ w’ ł’ (phonetically realised as glottalised resonants) are permitted underlyingly or whether they are all the result of vowel elision. There is a noun óón’e berries that suggests the former, though I could get away with an elided /o/ which would yield the singulative oonó’no rather than the preferred óón’no.
- hs hł can occur after long oo while ss łł cannot occur after long ıı. See here for what I'm talking about.
The actual lists are in the spoiler:
