Does the Old English cognate of “öid” have a <g> /j/?

After you suggested it, I had the same thought! haha

Just for fun *iġeoþēġ would probably result in something like ijodei, jodei, eidei, or even ejodei.

Is the "öi" cognate with/derived from an Old English diphthong?
