Not remotely.

It's not bizarre, it's very straightforward. I suggest considering the most likely meanings of each part of the word in turn...

TWO THREE Possibilities:

A.. an excess ink dabber?
I.e. some kind of cloth-y, cottony thing for dabbing off ink from a nib of a pen.

Or else,

B.. a kweeter: the {often blue} bulb one uses to emunct a (baby's) stuffed nostril?

Or possibly

C.. The action of emunction itself (Cf. non-tool\nomina actionis *-l Germanic words like OE wraxl 'a wrestling'; OE húsel 'eucharist' + :got: hunsl 'sacrifice'; :deu: Wechsel + OE wrixl 'a change, a turn' )

...no.

Well, sorry to have ruined your game.
One last try: the neb- element does not mean 'nose'.

Does it refer to a part of an animal's body (beak/snout)?

No need to be sorry, you didn't ruin anything. This *is* the game.
One last try: the neb- element does not mean 'nose'.
Obviously I assumed too much about its meaning. Is it closer to its English cognate and mean nipple? Or maybe more generally breast/chest?

Yes (it is used both for humans and some non-human animals).

I'll reiterate spanick's guess:

Ooh, is it a napkin?
Edit: Just noticed that Spanick already guessed tissue, but I’ll leave this here anyway...

Yes! Napkin!

The neb- element means "beak", which has become the usual word for the mouth-area of humans (though not the inside of the mouth). The -throskel element means 'towel', from thursako:na, 'to dry', plus -ilaz. It's cognate to 'thurka', the Norse word for a towel (the etymological debate is whether it's really thursako:na, and Norse has lost the /s/, or whether it's really thurzako:na, with gradation of the /s/ already in PGmc, in which case Wenthish can have re-graded it by analogy). Hence, "mouth-towel", or napkin.

Yay! If I understand the game correctly, I’m supposed to post the next word, right?

Can I have a couple of days to cook something up? I don’t have any Germanic conlangs up and running, I’m afraid...

This makes so much sense now. I definitely was over thinking it and couldn't get past my initial assumption that it meant "nose".

Of course, take your time.

[+1]

Somehow I misremembered the identification of the etymology of "neb-" as a confirmation that it meant "nose".

Much as I’d like to have a go at coming up with a word for the game, I just don’t foresee having time to do so because of the holidays. Therefore, if anyone would like to offer a word first, please go ahead. I’d hate to stall the game.

Looking at the last round, I'd be alright if spanick wanted to give it a go.
