Is anybody with kowledge in russian willing to give basic lesson? Of course if there is no one I will probably find something interesting on google, but a teacher here in the forum would be much better appreciated.

Learn Polish. ;-)

There is European Football Championship in Poland (and Ukraine) in 2012.

Well, they only announced it like a minute before I wrote that.

My former roommate was Ukranian, but she never taught me any Russian. :(

In case he isn't on here, over on the Zeeb, Mecislau offered to give me lessons. It worked out for a while, but he's been busy with college IIRC. But it may help to get in contact with him. He may at least know others online willing to give lessons.

I know a little bit of Russian - but not enough to write a lesson and effectively answer questions. Below are some links that you might want to check out.

Online Russian Reference Grammar
SEELRC Russian Grammar (can download .PDF there)
Russian Grammar (kind of a pain in the ass to navigate)

This website looks like it was made by an eleven-year-old, but you might find some valuable resources there.

There's also always MasterRussian.com and a nice Google search.

If I may, I'd also like to recommend either Livemocha (free/paid*), italki (paid*), or Rosetta Stone (paid**) for help with pronunciation/interactive lessons.

*Livemocha is a pretty cool website. You can get access to a lot of Rosetta-Stone-like courses with enough teacher points and mochapoints. I'm not 100% sure how it totally works now, I'm sure it's changed since I last used it - but still a valuable resource. You can complete speaking and writing lessons and get feedback from native speakers there.

**Italki is something you might wnat to check out - I've recently began using it. You can pay teachers there to teach you a language via Skype or other programs. Most of them offer free or very cheap trials so you can make sure they don't suck at teaching.

***Rosetta Stone gets crap on pretty much every angle and it's definitely not the only resource you will need for learning Russian...but I've been using it here lately for several different languages (Russian included) and it has really helped me with my pronunciation...I've also increased my vocabulary with it. But, expect to cover some phrases that you will probably never use. I haven't tried v4 TOTALe yet.

Is this because she spoke Ukrainian only, and didn't know Russian, and was insulted that you asked her to teach you Russian?

(This happened to me once)

Yeah, great idea, I really interested in Russian. Not only because this language sounds so slovian. Sometimes I just want to say something to beautiful, russian girl, and here is problem, I don't know too much words. xd

And about polish lessons, I am not good teacher, but if someone gonna help me, I can make thread with some basic informations about polish.

Basic lessons?! I've always wanted to try my hand at teaching my native language.

I just need to be informed of what people want to learn. *starts explaining Russian verbs*

I honestly think that's a great idea. I've been studying Russian for a while now and the verbs were the hardest part to understand - especially the verbs of motion. Thank god for the "Big Silver Book of Russian Verbs" though, which I highly recommend to anyone planning on messing with Russian verbs!

Russian is actually a very dumb language verb-wise. I mean, how the heck does a verb's semantic makeup determine its perfectivity?

I don't like this system ]:
