For me, "what" rhymes with "hot" and "not", not "hut" or "nut". The "lolwut" pear with teeth meme from ages back taught me that other dialects pronounce it like "wut" rather than "wot" (of course that wouldn't work today amd it would do me a heccin confuse to try to wurk out pronunciation fro memes nou). Also, I sometimes stress WhatsApp on the first syllable... but I've only heard of it since I've isolated myself from most other native speakers.

I listened to people talking about Whatsapp in French, and it's possible they pronounce it [wʌtsap], but I can't tell for sure. If they were, it would mean they were using a phone not native to French, when /œ/ is already regularly used to naturalize English /ʌ/.
