Help with conscript
Help with conscript
I have an idea for a simple conscript for my language, Eathut. Can anyone help me find what I need for it? I have only 15 base syllables and 3 singular consonant codas. I want to use /c ɔ o x ı/, corresponding to [p t k ʔ V], respectively. It is, essentially, a syllabary. But I NEED certain diacritics like this: /ꜿċ/. I want one of each shown with a dot above, below, and in the middle (last one where possible).
For anyone one who wanted to know, /ꜿċ/ would be [tavi].
I have these, so far: /ꜿ [ta] c [p] ċ [pi] c̣ [pu] o [k] ȯ [ki] ọ [ku] x [ʔa] ẋ [ʔi] x̣ [ʔu] ı [a] i
For anyone one who wanted to know, /ꜿċ/ would be [tavi].

Re: Help with conscript
Is this the kind of answer you expected?
<c ɔ o x ı> dotless
<ċ ɔ̇ ȯ ẋ i> dot above
<c̣ ɔ̣ ọ x̣ ı̣> dot below
<ꞓ ꜿ ʘ ᚸ ᵻ> centre dot/bar
The last row was the most difficult and looks ugliest up to now.

There's <ͼ> and <☉> too (although in the case of the latter it's still noticeably distinct from <o>), and apparently the Roman Denarius symbol in unicode is a barred <x>, but it doesn't appear to be supported by my laptop (𐆖 if anyone can see it at all)Creyeditor wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018 17:41 Is this the kind of answer you expected?

You can tell the same lie a thousand times,
But it never gets any more true,
So close your eyes once more and once more believe
That they all still believe in you.
Just one time.

So close your eyes once more and once more believe
That they all still believe in you.

Is this <⊙> different from <☉> in any font? The second one is the sun symbol, the first one being some math symbol.

Re: Help with conscript
I am thankful for all of the feedback. The last row was unnecessary for my aims, but thanks. MIGHT anyone have an /o/ with a simple dot inside it that is the size of the one shown? For shits and giggles, might there be a /p q/ with a top and bottom dot? Please, help me "mind my p's and q's." ;)

Thanks, Sangi. Does anyone have a regular sized /o/ with a dot? I have every one I need but that.sangi39 wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018 19:53<ṗ p̣ q̇ q̣>DV82LECM wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018 18:51 I am thankful for all of the feedback. They're different on this forum when I view them on my laptop, but not when I'm on my phone.Creyeditor wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018 18:44 Is this <⊙> different from <☉> in any font? The second one is the sun symbol, the first one being some math symbol.

Re: Help with conscript
Doing some purging of two sounds, so certain symbols have become obsolete. Am going a slightly different direction...does anyone have /ʌ/ with an above and below dot?

Re: Help with conscript
Are you able to access combining diacritics? Microsoft Word should let you, although that of course means manually clicking the above dot after <ʌ> every time. Here it is copy-pasted: ʌ̇
Re: Help with conscript
Thanks. Below dot, perhaps?
