Palabra por palabra "in contrast with"?

It's in contrast *to in English, and either you are wrong, or a couple of dictionaries, some million google hits and several Spanish wikipedia/wiktionary articles are. I'll go with that you don't know what you're talking about and wait for a native speaker's opinion.

I'm generally not, believe it or not. What ticks me off is people who insist on correcting things that aren't broken.

Oh god... Again. I wasn't contesting its existence, but the context here. -_-

You know what, I'll stop helping you, too much of a butthurt for me. Stubborn people are annoying anyway. (But please, keep correcting my Swedish in the other section, though. ^^')

In that case you weren't being clear at all, since you first claimed it was a calque and then that 'contrast' was only used with colors, neither of which is the case here.

That'd be great!

(I put the above sentence into google translate to check it, and I forgot to switch it to spanish, and it thought it was Galician...)

Visinoid:

If you can give a sentence, a context; that could be more helpful. My Grad professor used to say things like "al contrastar X con Y, encontramos...etc", or "si contrastamos blablabla con radarada, podemos ver que..." which is niether option already presented. I think I also heard the "diferencia de" when I lived in Peru.
