Forum News discussion/feedback thread

What can I say? It doesn't fit above, put it here. Also the location of board rules/info.

maybe they could go even further and incorporate the text into the image. Then it would be very neat and out of the way so we can see everyone's beautiful profile pictures.

This happened. Compare the size and shape of, for example, Aszev's rank banner to the sizes and shapes of most of ours.

I thought my phone was acting up. I'm relieved that's not the case. Not sure I like the new format.

Am I the only one that's actually in favour of the new images?

Well, I wouldn't say that. They're the only one in this thread so far who has stated that they are in favor of them, but that doesn't make them the only one. I don't think the change would have been made in the first place if that were the case.

I am fairly indifferent on the subject of the new banners, but am leaning slightly towards liking them more than disliking them.

Congratulations as well to gach and clawgrip; you both certainly deserve the honor!

The new rank images somehow messed up the rank system

The rank change is intentional, as I've now increased the postcount requirements of several ranks to reflect the growth of the board! I've updated this topic with more information!

Are the numbers chosen at random or is there some pattern I fail to discern?

Several members have expressed their indifference to these changes. I'd like to differ, as I think it just makes the board a bit more fun.

Also, if you've got Mongolian now (Yes, Mongolian!), can we have Thai, Arabic, Hebrew and Ge'ez too?

A little bit of both. The difference between each number of posts before you get a new rank increases by 50 each time.

E.g.
hieroglyphic>cuneiform = 50 posts
cuneiform>sinic = 125 posts
sinic>greek = 250 posts
greek>roman = 425 posts

125-50 = 75
250-125 = 125
425-250 = 175

Thank you, I appreciate you saying so [:)]

Well, yes, but then we'd need a lot more posts, don't you think? [;)]

Just when I was within sight of Korean...

...now I'll have to keep on for like ten more years before getting to those lofty heights!

At least I have Mongolian to look forward to!
