This is my first time doing this! It seems long overdue to me, given how long I've been lurking around these parts.

Aliases: FamedAstronomer, toomuchpiano
Location: the great Floridian suburbs :/
Date of birth: late 2004—I’m currently 19
Gender: I go by he/him pronouns, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sexuality: pansexual, gynephilic
Occupation: on a gap year, though I tutor fourth-grade and write music
Interests: cultures and their products: literature and philology (esp. that of medieval Iberia and the Sinosphere), music and ethnomusicology, art history, coffee, cooking, politics. Lots of occasional dabbling into other things, but only at a surface-level.
Favorite music: nueva trova and its revivalists—Silvio Rodríguez is my favorite out of the old guard, Jorge Drexler of the new. I’m very fond of the Anglo-Saxon ‘60s, a couple of indie outfits (Neutral Milk Hotel, Sufjan Stevens), impressionist art music, Bach, Thelonious Monk.
Favorite films/series: I love most of Wes Anderson, and Casablanca is a perpetual favorite—I’m fond of Miyazaki as well. Not a big TV guy, though I love Adventure Time and Over the Garden Wall.
Favorite books: I’ve been meaning to recommend Peter Cole’s Dream of the Poem to somebody: it’s a annotated anthology of medieval Hispano-Hebrew poetry in translation. Big fan of Borges, Marquez, Shakespeare, Tang poetry, and pre-modern Japanese literature.
Political ideology: along the lines of anarcho-syndicalism/-socialism/Zapatismo, though I'm not a fan of labels.
Religion: philosophically a Mahayana Buddhist, culturally Catholic, practicing some mixture of the two
Natlang education: native English and Puerto Rican Spanish. I’m self-taught in Brazilian Portuguese, which I can read, write, and listen to fluently (though speech sometimes eludes me). On-and-off Latin. Currently throwing myself at Medieval Hebrew, with mixed results.
Favorite natlangs: Yiddish, Occitano-Romance, literary Sinitic (I adore kanbun kundoku)
Conlangs: a massive pile of abandoned projects. I worked on a Crimean descendant of Old English for a while, then came back to an old Sicilian Norman project. My big conworlding project, which I’ve kept going on-and-off for some time, is a low-tech “lost colony” on terraformed Mars, about 650 years from now.
Favorite conlangs: Dormouse’s Silvish, Jackk’s Boral, and VaptuantaDoi’s Vissard really made me reevaluate how I do diachronic conlanging, especially the role of analogy, syntax, and odd semantic shifts in language.
Other hobbies: I make music! You can find my first album at linktr.ee/toomuchpiano. I also cook and collect cookbooks.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?: Inshallah, with a doctorate in medieval Hebrew, teaching at a university and maybe working on the Geniza.

Alias: BarkMiner... Not really comfortable sharing other name/location info, especially since my given name is highly identifiable.
Age: 25
Gender: M
Occupation: PhD Student
Interests: Fiction, ttrpgs, distance running, the various ways corporatized social media is destroying society, etc...
Favorite music: Radical shit. Punk, post-punk, goth, hip-hop, some folk/country. Also like prog rock, honestly just listen to a lot of stuff.
Political ideology: Punk (synthesis anarchist/left libertarian if you want to be technical but I think punk is the more accurate descriptor)
Religion: Pagan atheist/agnostic. I know that distinction seems kind of like an oxymoron but I grew up in a Christian culture and am still working to distance myself from monotheistic/monist thinking, which I believe is unhealthy. I think it is common for post-christian atheists to conceptualize math/physics in a way that strives to replace a singular god.
Conlangs: None yet, hoping to get some help with that [:)]
Natlangs: Fluent in English, French, but my crappy American keyboard makes it difficult to type in the latter. Know bits of Swahili, German, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, Irish Gaelic.
Other hobbies: Chess, strategy games, magic the gathering
Where do you see yourself in ten years? A professor at an Irish or German research university

Date of birth: October 22; I'm 15
Gender: Dude
Occupation: Teenager
Interests: Worldbuilding, bushcraft, fishing, guitar, cartography, and a few other things.
Favorite music: Good music of basically any genre.
Political ideology: Libertarian; let people do whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.
Religion: Non-denominational Christian; philosophically transcendentalist (Thoreau, RW Emerson, etc, NOT 70's transcendental meditation).
Conlangs: Proto-Thuellic (Tibeto-Burman, Nahuan, Austroasiatic and Bantu thrown into a blender), Arhani and a yet-unnamed language. (Edit: Now working on a personal loglang/englang/cognitive language)
Natlangs: English, learning Spanish and Mandarin.
Other hobbies: Muay Thai, working out, drawing, painting, fly tying.
Where do you see yourself in ten years? Hopefully running a small business, going into the woods regularly and being a big nerd.

Alias(es): Nearsighted, Arayaz, Zayara, Linguox, Worldquill...I'm called a lot of things. Trying to get it all in order.
Location: Louisiana
Date of birth: 2010. I'm probably one of the younger people here ─ and have violated whichever part of the code of conduct says you have to be 13. Sorry. I like conlanging.
Gender: Male
Occupation: Student
Interests: Writing, conlanging, worldbuilding, linguistics, Magic: The Gathering, capoeira, D&D
Favorite music: Billy Joel, and some pop... I'm a fan of all sorts of things, really.
Religion: Atheist; I celebrate Jewish traditions, though not in extremity.
Conlangs: Yoshó, Aodyëi, and the Thakina languages are the ones I'm at least somewhat satisfied with. The other side of the family is Näzyuva, Kuana, Shelik, and (diving deeper) Yja'ûn and Hîmnà, which I don't really want to talk about.
Other hobbies: Writing, Magic: The Gathering, capoeira, D&D, compiling things into databases, Duolingo.
Where do you see yourself in ten years? Having published a few books, still in college studying linguistics, hopefully with a 3,808-day Duolingo streak, if all goes well. Ten more years, and I'd ideally have a degree in linguistics, be teaching at a high school or university, and still writing, conlanging, and posting on this forum. :)

Wow, Üdj, are you really that young? That's cool that you're into conlanging at such a young age. That's around the time I made my first attempts, but it was mainly because I'd started studying Latin in middle school and most of my first attempts were fairly run-of-the-mill Romlangs (just with more noun case preservation). I didn't join this site until I was 15. Either way, good to have you here. [:D]

Yep, turning 13 in September. I started doing linguisticy stuff when I was 11; I joined the forum right before my 12th birthday.

Might as well update this, surveys be fun

Alias(es): Arayaz, nearsighted
Location: My profile says nothing more than "just south of the pin-pen merger," but it's probably out of the bag by now that I live in LA. No, not that LA, the other LA. The one with the pin-pen merger. (Louisiana)
Date of birth: I will be turning 13 in around 50 days.
Gender: Male
Occupation: Student
Interests: Conlanging is of course the thing I spend hours every day doing. Aside from that, I sail keelboats (I-20s to be specific), currently only in a summer camp but going to do an after-school thing once I'm 14. I want to start a garden, but don't have room ─ in a month or so I might be able to. Worldbuilding and writing are fun, but I'm not as good at them.
Favorite music: Billy Joel is my favorite artist, followed by Weird Al. In addition to that, I like a variety of other songs, my favorite not by either of them being Calamity Song by The Decemberists.
Political ideology: Idk, somewhere to the left, politics don't make sense
Conlangs: Laakitlantu is my best conlang. All of my others are bad: Yoshó is chaotic and basically Latin with Spanish's phonology. Śkalaźwë, which is fun to say, isn't bad, in general, but very incomplete. Aodyëi is not very good, and also not very complete. The Thakina languages are messed-up and uninteresting. Shelik is disorganized and has some pretty inexcusable sound changes (ehm ... e → ɜ → o). Kachüdj is Old English recreated by someone who didn't know how Old English worked. Ăsă is Ăsă, which is an insult by itself. Näzyuva is arbitrary and unnatural. Kuana is boring. Yja’ûn is a kitchen sink. Hîmnà is terrible, and possibly less natural than the stuff online conlang generators might generate, except its phonemic inventory, which is literally English minus a few sounds.
Natlangs: I can read Portuguese *almost* fluently, write it less so, speak it less than I write it, understand it even less. I'm in the process of learning Indonesian and Irish, but have practically no practical skill (or vocabulary) in either practice. Also, today marks the day that I achieve a 200-day Duolingo streak [B)]
Other hobbies: Aside from what I've mentioned above, I enjoy Magic: The Gathering, and play some piano. I do capoeira, and I play D&D.
Where do you see yourself in ten years? Who knows? I guess I'd be in college.

Edits: mistakes.
