Ancient Greek -
οἱ μὲν πρόεδροι, οἱ δὲ τύραννοι
/hɔ men ‘prɔ.e.drɔj // hɔ de ‘ty.r:ɒ.nɔj/


As soon as an Ancient Greek hears the "μὲν" involved, (s)he knows there's going to be "but on the other hand...", "but here's the punchline...".

It's not as subtle as the intonational cue that Micamo describes, but it was clever enought for the Greeks, and the Romans liked it, so they calqued it (not as well)
with ita...vero... in Latin.

In addition, the phrase "X just jumped like Torvbcla" is an idiom for when someone who acts all high and mighty and holier-than-thou quickly breaks down and reveals themselves to be a complete pussy when called out on their actions (referencing how Torvbcla killed himself by jumping from his palace)
