:con: Makihip

Mik xonatemayewetu tokomenawat xoxohwanoya(a?)y mik.
It's not official yet, but certain documents do not need to follow the official government things.

New Makihip stuff:
Spoiler:
-ay- (negation) and -ewe- (implying a probable change of the state in the future). Also, the idiom mik xo-tim-, literally "gods approve of" but meaning more along the lines of "official" or "valid," which is a reflection of the theocractic culture of the Mawip. More on that later, possibly. Also -to- "but, however, regardless," -uya- "to need to," and -awat- "some but not all." And tokomin "document," which is a borrowing from English.
Edit: Regarding recent changes to the language, I have altered some parts.

New fun thing: Used the possession system to make a distinction between someone's name (that they chose themselves) and someone's name (that was given to them). Should write up info on Alál's speakers' naming practices some time, since that's actually very culturally relevant.

Spoiler:
1. Ooh, definitely coining hamuazà / haluazà as a discourse marker (roughly meaning "I hope so") from a shortening of ahà·muluas azà.

2. "Trans Day of Visibility" here was translated as a whole clause so I could use inclusive we person agreement on the verb. Formally, as a noun, it'd be Is·Ṣàh hàka·Ṭímûrhulraḳǎma Kukàuár za'sa Zàı·zmıṭaì, which if translated vaguely pretentiously means "high tide when they who forge their own transformations shout repeatedly down from a mountain". Idiomatically, to shout [something] down from atop a mountain is to declare that it exists, or declare something about it, with absolute certainty and direct personal experience. (One trusts the mountaineer, after all, to report most accurately about what is on the other side.) The "tide" thing is a consequence of not having a word for day, per say. I never do get around to talking about Alál's associated conworld; suffice it to say no one has seen the (thing that replaced the) sun in living memory, but the tides are precisely regular down to the minute, and so are the primary timekeeper.

3. ...Alternatively, if you wanted to be deeply poetic and take advantage of the fact that (1) the hàka·Ṭuhaı kukàuár idiom can probably be turned into a compound verb, Kur·ṭuhàhaı, (2) the first halves of verb compounds are semantically ambiguous, (3) the root KUR "mountain" in verb form coincidentally has some very specific meanings, (4) and -hà- "down from" has the non-literal interpretation "simply/merely/just", you could also say this:

Kímûzaızmıṭàrùl·ṭuhàhraḳǎma
ku<ímv-ŕ-zar̀+zmı<ṭa>r̀>r-ùl+ṭu<hà>h-ra-ḳàm-á
mountain<4.4PL-PL-self+transform<smith.O>>AFF+shout<down.from>-NOM.V.OBL-FREQ-XVA

"(the event when) people shout down from a mountaintop about (i.e. decree, with the backing of experience, the existence of) trans people"
...or...
"(the event when) people simply shout about some journey/experience (that is long, exhausting, sometimes proclaimed to be futile, often socially taboo, usually dangerous, and generally of deep personal and/or spiritual significance, from which you do not expect to return the same as when you left) as it relates to trans people"

So that's fun.
